As the water is repelled off the surface of the bed, it is advisable if your dog is incontinent to use an absorbent layer on the top to prevent them from sitting in water. We suggest the incontinence pads, that wick away the moisture.

**** WARNING- If your dog "likes to chew" and gets through furniture like it is fun, we doubt that any bed will withstand that sort of treatment and do not suggest that this bed will be impervious to them, just that it will stand up to more than a more conventional soft fluffy bed.******

The outside cover comes with a handle to make moving the bed easy and it is removable should it need a thorough clean, although from our own use, we have found a scrub and a spray with a hose and it is like new again!! We know animals like to get themselves into mischief and if there is a mess to be found, it will be spread everywhere.
